A small ritual for family photos
Ten minutes at the end of each month can turn a crowded camera roll into something you revisit.
Family archives become overwhelming because every photograph asks to be important. A simple monthly ritual gives the pictures a shape without turning memory keeping into another job.
Choose one ordinary hour
Pick a quiet time near the end of the month. Put on music, open the camera roll, and move quickly. The goal is not a perfect archive; it is a small set you would enjoy seeing again.
Keep ten kinds of evidence
Choose a face, a place, a meal, a small achievement, an object, something funny, a change, a visitor, a wide scene, and one picture you simply love. Missing a category is fine.
- Aim for 10–20 photos
- Include ordinary rooms
- Keep one imperfect frame
- Add a short month title
Make it visible
A folder is useful, but a short photo story is easier to replay together. Give the month a title that sounds like your family—not a filing system—and watch it once before starting the next one.
